Events and Class Calendar

Events are back! Starting October 15th, Join us every 1st and 3rd Tuesday each month for assorted creative classes and events.

The first Tuesday of every month will be a project-based class, where supplies and limited space require a reasonable fee for admission.

The third Tuesday of every month will be a free community event and could be anything from mending nights, introductions and demonstrations of basic creative skills, drawing nights, supply swaps, lectures by artists, and more.

Either of these types of events could be drop-by events where you can come anytime in the 6:30pm-8:30 slot and make something, or be an event where you must arrive promptly, such as in the case of a lecture or a more complicated project. Please note each event as to which kind it is.

If a paid event, feel free to text or call 510-520-4600 or email info@bay-made.com to reserve your spot. We can take Venmo, send you a Square invoice, or take your payment the day of the class.

During each of these events, take 10% off everything in the store aside from framed original artwork.

We are so excited to have you!

Introduction to Block Printing

  • Bay-Made 3295 Lakeshore Avenue Oakland, CA, 94610 United States (map)

Class costs $30 and can be reserved here.

Make your own stationery for the holidays! The instructor, Sarahjane, is the owner of Bay-Made and an illustrator, herself. She has a BFA in Visual Development for Animation, and has worked on a wide breadth of projects, from mobile games and concept art for film and television, to national park visitor center exhibits, consumer products, and much more. You can check out her work here.

Sarahjane will teach you the very basics of block and stamp carving, as well as basic designs. This is not as in-depth of a class as taught before, so it’s perfect for dipping your toes in and see if you like printing. We will provide design templates for making small stamps, and will have holiday motif stamps ready-carved and a variety of inks so you can work just on stamping. You’ll leave with 6 cards and a length of wrapping paper!

Extremely small class sizes, capped at 4. Must be vaccinated and wear masks. Students may also take 10% off their purchase in store that night, as well.
